Daily Communication/Agendas/Take Home Folders/Conduct Slips:
I will be communicating with you about your child and important events taking place through your child's conduct slip and take home folder. You may also use these helpful tools to communicate with me as well. I will be checking these daily.
Your child's conduct slip, papers, and school notes will be located in the take home folder. Please check both pockets of this folder for important school-wide information, classroom newsletters, homework, and graded papers. It is your child's responsibility to bring this folder home and return it to school the next day. I remind the students to check their folder when they arrive in the classroom.
The conduct slip will have information on it about how your child behaved that day along with a conduct grade for the day. Please make sure that you check this daily and initial beside each days conduct grade. This must be returned in the take home folder each day. Please follow through at home for any unacceptable behaviors that occur during the day and be sure to congratulate your child for their good behavior - this will help your child be more successful in school and make our days more pleasant. I appreciate your help!

Students will have weekly homework in Reading. Students will bring home 1 library book nightly. They will need to read their library book each evening. Students will also have occasional homework that will reinforce concepts already taught in the classroom. Please return all homework on time.
Birthdays:
Parents are welcome to bring a birthday treat to school to celebrate their child's birthday. Please arrange this with me a day or two in advance, so I may plan accordingly. You may send the treats with your child, bring them first thing in the morning, or come during the last 20 min. of the school day. Please refrain from asking teachers to hand out invitations unless ALL STUDENTS are invited. Thanks for helping us in this delicate matter! We don't want any one to have their feelings hurt!
Water:
Students will be allowed to bring his/her own water bottle into class and leave it at his/her desk. Please allow your child to bring a small bottle with their name written on it to class. They will need to keep the lid on it while it is sitting on their desk. Bottles will be sent home periodically to be washed.
